It's beautiful here and I'm enjoying the summer weather soooooooo much.

I've been enjoying time in my garden - it's glorious this year! - just reading and relaxing, and as a result, I've had occasion to enjoy a lovely refreshing beverage or two 😃.
I'm more of a red wine kind of gal, but I was recently introduced to this wonderful cocktail originating from Italy (and I think the Italians know a thing or two about relaxing in style!).
The "spritz" is my new favorite summer cocktail and I think you'll like it as much as I do. See below for the recipe and thank me later 😉.
So do yourself a favor this weekend; make a spritz and keep yourself busy reading (in a garden, if possible!).
Classic Italian Spritz Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 3 ounces prosecco (or sparkling wine of your choice)
- 1 ounce aperitif (such as Aperol or Campari)
- club soda or sparkling water (optional, to taste
Directions:
- Fill a large wine glass with ice.
- Add your aperitif of choice, then sparkling wine. Stir gently to combine. Top with soda if desired for a lighter variation.
- Garish with a briny olive or orange slice and enjoy!
